MOURNING CLOAK RANCH AND BOTANICAL GARDENS. 822-1661. 22101 Old Town Road, Tehachapi, has reopened.

Open between May 1st and November 1st from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fee. Private tours may be arranged throughout the year (depending on the weather) by calling to make reservations. Tours can include a gourmet lunch. The ranch and gardens, founded more than 30 years ago, include 2,600 species of plants and about 500 species of California natives growing on the 28-acre park.

ANTELOPE VALLEY INDIAN MUSEUM closed in June 2006 for earthquake retrofitting which may take up to two years to complete.

 

The ANTELOPE VALLEY LABOR DAY SKY PARADE was cancelled in 2007. All the fans hope it will be reinstated for 2008.
